Web Site Author

As site author, my basic position is that: I am an adherent of the Scientology Religious Philosophy. It is my wish that the Religion be promulgated in a fashion consistent with the exact writings of L. Ron Hubbard. (My rational is entirely practical - of the many permutations of the basic Scientology philosophy and technology, nothing has proved itself to be a demonstrable improvement - either statistically or in an absolute sense.) It is my belief that all should be free to consume or provide Scientology services, and that consumer vigilance will ultimately provide for the best quality of services. Since services provided by the Church of Scientology are well defined and published, this site is intended to promote fellowship amongst Independent Scientologists and aid those wishing to assess their options in the Scientologically conservative part of the FreeZone.

As a Church of Scientology member, and largely satisfied Scientologist for about 26 years, and having achieved OTV by the mid '80s, my vector into the FreeZone was initiated by the size of the donation required to begin OTVI, in combination with the realization that I would unlikely find the time and resources to complete the Scientology Bridge in one lifetime. While patient by nature, the thought of gambling on the FreeZone and "just doing it" proved enticing beyond the risks involved. (The 'risks', for those not familiar with the Church of Scientology, is in the sense that once you exit the Church, you really can't go back - in that you would never qualify for the confidential parts of the higher levels of religious application that the Church offers.)

I have now been an Independent Scientologist for about 3 years. Subjectively I'm pretty happy with my Scientological experience in the FreeZone, so far - that being largely due to the fact that I found a Scientology Auditor that had sufficient skill and insight to help and advise me appropriately when I needed it. Objectively, I miss some of the structural and orderly aspects of Church membership. I miss the fellowship that membership imparted, not in the individual sense, but rather the large scale sense of combined purpose, destiny and mission. I'm still on several church mailing lists and review the sent promotional materials from time to time. The purpose, destiny and missional aspects ring somewhat hollow in my ears these days - but I'm reluctant to assert whether the observer or observed has changed more. Likely both, somewhat.

In creating this web site and adding to the form of Independent FreeZone Scientology, and attempting my own calculation of the 'greatest good for the greatest number of dynamics' I have factored in the monopolistic behavior of the current church structure, the probable benefits of competition, the large number of disaffected, (prominent among those being the ones declared suppressive for purposes of political expediency), and finally, a somewhat poor statistic at the Clear and OTIII levels. In total, it is my estimation that the Scientology Religion would be better served by a constellation of Protestant Scientology Denominations representing a variety of interpretations of Standard Tech and Standard Admin, in turn competing for the most efficacious form of a Scientology organization.
