Criticism

Being critical is a necessary part of evaluation. When used in such a manner it acts as an assessment tool, valuable for avoiding errors and improving the chances for a positive outcome.

A knife is a valuable tool. It is great for chopping string beans and peeling apples - and even for cutting steak, (if you are into that sort of thing). Outside of a kitchen, knives are mostly used for offence.

Evaluation is a mandatory FreeZoner survival skill. Offensive evaluation is an optional FreeZoner, (too often indulged in), vice.

It is always disappointing to look up to someone and notice an imperfection. (Aside the fact that a good look in the mirror might reveal a similar outline). Since when did perfection become the defining characteristic for leadership, or even OT?

Rey Robles has been investigated, dragged through the courts, and he is still being there and communicating. Rey Robles is the energizer bunny of the FreeZone - he just keeps persisting no matter what. Tommy has more confront and chutzpa than the rest of the field combined. Pat is the queen of ARC. Ralph knows his tech and is probably the smartest person I've met. Pierre looks like the king of TRs, (I'm sure we will all feel relieved and disappointed when we find out he is human too). Victor has this whole serenity, Mexico, isolation, invulnerability thing going. The mystery man.

It's a buyers market. You have choices. As Martha on bail might say: 'That's a good thing'.

When I want to metaphorically visualize the FreeZone, I try desperately to see a colorful butterfly emerging from its cocoon on a beautiful spring morning. The more real vision that keeps interposing is that of a moth beating itself senseless against the porch light at midnight.

Honest, first person, parishioner reports are of value to the PC, (and the auditor - if it isn't glowing), other potential PCs, and ultimately to the service providers themselves, (auditors and supervisors either as correction or a source of potential new clients). The only qual that exists in the FreeZone is results. It is the same line that exists in the church. Fortunately, in the FreeZone, the penalty for a bad result doesn't weight nearly as heavily on the PC.

Things you should expect from a FreeZone auditor:

Things you should not expect from a FreeZone auditor:

The Standard Tech section of the FreeZone barely exists. It is fragile. It consists of a handful of field auditors that continue to be there and communicate in spite of your criticisms and wishes for a new Moses to lead you out of Egypt.

There exists a second tier of potential service providers that are largely part-time volunteers - that have agreed to make themselves available on a rather casual and tentative basis. Do they really have to have the most well done auditing hours on the planet to enjoy a tiny modicum of your admiration? Must you always measure another by their inventory of flaws - ignoring the fact that they continue to communicate, despite open criticism?

If you want to criticize, look to the Classed Auditors and OT s that have their certs hidden away in their bookshelf, yet won't abandon their dream by throwing them away - and yet refuse to be here and communicate. They are the ones that deserve an equal share of your scorn and pity. What the church may have done to them is the palest imitation of real duress. Broken pieces - every single one. Mourn their loss a moment - before you start wagging your finger with such ease at those still willing to communicate.

If you want to assess a beings' value, measure them against their willingness to persist.
