Church of Scientology Training

This web page provides editorial comment on your option of training with the Church of Scientology.

If you are brand new to Scientology and you haven't taken any FreeZone services yet, then you are still qualified to take training with the Church of Scientology. As a beginner this is not such a bad option. The Church of Scientology, since its inception, has always offered training at a comparative discount to auditing. There are a variety of sound reasons for this, which accrue benefits to both the Church of Scientology and to you. If you are new, and skeptical, you might assume that most benefits accrue to the Church of Scientology, if so, you would be sadly mistaken. Without a firm theoretical grasp of the subject and at least basic auditor training your chances of making it to OT are nil.

The first requisite to Church of Scientology training is that you have a delivery organization within a reasonable commuting distance. If not, then you might as well do your training in the FreeZone, since you are going to be on your own anyway and there is far more flexibility in the FreeZone.

Secondly, since you are reading this, the list of conditions for training at an official Church or Mission are already fairly severe. For starters, reading this, you are already in a condition of DOUBT visa vie the Church of Scientology. You will need to walk into your chosen Church of Scientology building / Mission, "touch the walls", (meaning get familiar with, oriented to, and decide it's a place you could be comfortable in), buy the "Introduction to Scientology Ethics" book. Read the book cover to cover. Apply the doubt formula to yourself. Arrive at the frame of mind that the Church is the home of Standard Tech, that you are a little skeptical but they have a shot at your complete confidence, you will acquire both understanding and skills from their training and possibly give their introductory auditing a try, or maybe just co-audit instead.

Whatever you choose to do, DO NOT go in and sign up harboring secret intentions and a critical attitude. At best you would be in a perpetual ENEMY or TREASON condition, neither you nor the Mission would get any benefit and it is even unlikely that you would make it in the FreeZone later. You must be open-minded and give them a reasonable shot at your loyalties. If at a later time you choose to enter the FreeZone for reasons of finance or principle, then make those decisions at that moment with whatever information you have at hand.

Starting out in the Church of Scientology and then, at a later time, moving into the FreeZone is relatively easy. Moving from the FreeZone back to the Church of Scientology involves "striking a blow" and disconnecting from any friends you may have made in the FreeZone.
