so true, before 1980, the org i was at was a really fun place.  i mean we had the little stat pushes, etc.  you know staying up all night on wednesday and comping on thursday by 2 and having someone guard the door till you letters were done and that sort of thing but it was all very light and fun for the most part.  lots of games, lots of wins.  but we were at the class 4 in DC.  i think the sea org had suffered through what came rolling in on us in the 80's for years before.  i am thankful i had the wins when i did as i think i got to enjoy scientology as ron had intended in the last days that it was ever like that.  but i also had lots of money back then.  i was staff and my husband totally supported me.  i never had to not eat or have the clothes i wanted or live in anything less than an upstat environment.  my husband was also on staff but on foundation as an auditor.  but during the day he worked and brought home the bacon.  i was on staff day org and studied nights.  even though i was on staff i paid for my training and auditing and that is how i got to do my OT levels.  so my situation was unique as most staff at my org never got any auditing and they ony training they did were hatting actions.  but imagine this, on a saturday night in DC org we had over 200 public on lines, between the hgc and the academy and the internship.  it rocked.  when you attested or gave your win, there were 100 or so people lining the hallways to cheer you on.  the MIP gives me intense pleasure. :)
